Suspect from Friday shooting in Eaton County arrested

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Marcus Oglesby, 31, a suspect in a shooting incident involving the Michigan Department of Corrections April 12 has been arrested in Jackson.

The Michigan State Police announced his arrest on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday.

“UPDATE: Marcus Oglesby, was seen walking down Mechanic Street near Mason. The suspect wanted in connection with the shooting on Friday, April 12th was captured by the MSP First District Fugitive Task Force this morning in Jackson,” the post reads. “Oglesby was transported and lodged at the Jackson County Jail. No further info available at this time.”

Law enforcement were on high alert Friday as they sought Oglesby. At one point, law enforcement surrounded a home on Lansing’s westside, deployed tear gas into the home and ultimately searched it. Because the vehicle Oglesby was in was found at the home, law enforcement believed he may have been in the home.
