Suspect in deadly Cleveland crash faces judge

CLEVELAND (WJW) — The 33-year-old driver charged with killing a woman in a fiery crash that landed in a fast-food drive-thru faced a judge on Wednesday.

Juan A. Soto, 33, of Cleveland, was handed a combined $60,000 bond on his charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault, Cleveland Municipal Court records show.

Authorities allege Soto was driving impaired on Fulton Road just after 3 a.m. on Monday, April 22, when he crashed into another vehicle traveling in the same direction near the Clark Avenue intersection, sending both vehicles into the side of a Rally’s Drive-In restaurant, according to an affidavit obtained by the FOX 8 I-Team.

Man found dead after 911 calls report gunfire outside local apartment

Gilmarie Quinones, 34, of Cleveland, was killed, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed on Monday. A second victim suffered critical injuries, investigators said.

A preliminary hearing is set for May 6.
