Suspect in custody for string of arsons in Snyder since 2019

SNYDER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A man from Snyder has been arrested as a suspect for committing arson in the town since 2019.

According to City of Snyder Fire Chief/ Fire Marshal Nathan Hines, a suspect has been apprehended who’s believed to be “the arsonist responsible for a string of destructive fires that plagued our community since 2019.”

The collaborative efforts of local Law Enforcement Agencies, the Snyder Fire Department, and State Fire Marshal Investigators resulted in the identification of 29-year-old Daniel Allen Jr. of Snyder as the suspect in the series of fires.

“We are relieved to announce that the individual responsible for these reprehensible acts has been placed into custody,” stated Nathan Hines, Fire Chief/ Fire Marshal of the Snyder Fire Department. “The safety and security of our community have always been our utmost priority, and through meticulous investigation and unwavering dedication, we have achieved a significant milestone in ensuring justice prevails.”

The investigation into the motive behind the attacks is ongoing. Authorities ensure that all necessary measures to prevent similar incidents will be taken.

“The apprehension of the arsonist serves as a testament to the effectiveness of collaborative law enforcement efforts and underscores the importance of community vigilance in safeguarding our neighborhoods,” Hines wrote in a release.
