Suspect arrested in deadly New Year’s Eve stabbing in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man wanted following a deadly stabbing on New Year’s Eve in Fresno has been arrested, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Officers say 30-year-old Jaime Reynaga was identified as the suspect wanted for the stabbing death of 39-year-old Anthony Sanchez on Dec. 31, 2023, on the 2400 block of South Sierra Vista Avenue.

Officers say they were alerted to the deadly stabbing at around 2:30 a.m. and found Anthony Sanchez with a stab wound. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the suspect was determined to be 30-year-old Jaime Reynaga – who was already in custody in Fresno County Jail on unrelated charges.
