Suspect arrested in connection with fatal shooting of 2 women at Tucson tobacco shop

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of two women at a Tucson smoke shop on Sunday.

Tucson police said that after an investigation into the fatal shooting of Sawsan Toma, 42, and Yvette Gutierrez, 31, on Sunday at the Wadee Smoke Shop on South 12th Avenue, detectives identified a suspect, 43-year-old Yusuf Ahmed-Ibrahim.

On Tuesday, after obtaining an arrest warrant for two counts of first degree murder, Tucson police officers located Ahmed-Ibrahim near South Second Avenue and East 18th Street. He was taken into custody with assistance from the Tucson SWAT team, police said.

Ahmed-Ibrahim was booked into the Pima County Jail and was being held on a $2 million bond.
