Suspect accused of smuggling meth, alcohol, tobacco into Abilene prison unit

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A suspect accused of smuggling meth, alcohol, and tobacco into an Abilene prison unit has been arrested.

Ashley Lynn Taylor was taken into custody Sunday for Delivery of Controlled Substances and Prohibited Items in a Correctional Facility in connection to an incident at the Robertson Prison Unit.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice states Taylor was visiting the unit when officers, “detected abnormalities during a routine pat-down search.”

A subsequent search of Taylor and her vehicle yielded the meth, alcohol, and tobacco.
