‘Is that supposed to be her?’ Newsroom commenters mock plaque of Brandi Chastain
“I’m guessing Jimmy Johnson?” “Looks more like John Elway.” Brandi Chastain’s comically inaccurate bronze bust has Newsroom commenters guessing who they think the likeness really looks like. Chastain was inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame on Monday. Two World Championships and two Olympics golds are kind of a big deal. But the bronze bust of Chastain looked anything like the soccer legend. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lucille Ball feel your pain, Brandi. So who does the bust look like? Newsroom readers have a few nominees: “Mickey Rooney gets my vote.” Celtic Ruby had a different idea: “Actually, I think the plaque looks like Biff in ‘Back to the Future.’” Chastain is taking it all in stride, saying, “It’s not the most flattering.
