The CW president Mark Pedowitz has confirmed the network's commitment to cult TV favourite Supernatural.

Recently renewed for its 15th season of moody monster hunting, fans can feel safe in the knowledge that the guys working behind the scenes on it are just as excited about continuing the show as they are.

Via Deadline, Pedowitz explained: "As long as the ratings hold up and the guys (stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) want to do it, it's really that simple. They have created something about these two brothers that actually transcends."

The big boss was also keen to mention Supernatural's impressive ratings statistics, adding "The show has been the lead-in or lead-out to all the successful shows on the network, it has one of the most balanced audiences."

Meanwhile, what does Pedowitz think about another spin-off attempt, following The Wayward Sisters' unfortunate lack of popularity?

"If there was a spin-off to be had, I'd love to have it," he noted. "That said, I've come to somewhat of a conclusion that the show is the two brothers."

Reflecting on the future of Supernatural, Pedowitz then said "If I can find a way, that (the show) stays the whole time on, and still holds up and the studio can figure out how to do it, we're all in."

Supernatural season 14 continues Thursdays on The CW, with its 300th episode airing on February 7. The series airs on E4 in the UK.
