‘Supergirl’: Winn Convinces James To Come Clean With Kara In New Sneak Peek

Winn (Jeremy Jordan) is tired of lying to Kara (Melissa Benoist).

In a newly released sneak peek from Season 2, episode 10 of “Supergirl,” Winn has made up his mind that it’s about time for James (Mehcad Brooks) to tell Kara that he’s really the Guardian. Winn starts convincing James to come clean with the Girl of Steel after finding out that the current head of CatCo Worldwide Media has been shot during his most recent shift as a vigilante.

“That’s a bullet hole in the suit I made!” Winn says after seeing blood coming out from the Guardian suit. “That’s it. We’re telling Kara.”

When James tells Winn to calm down, the IT whiz doesn’t listen and goes on to say that he’s exhausted with all the lying. “Dude, I can’t do this anymore,” Winn said. “Winn is tired. The workload, the lying to Kara, it’s gotta stop.”

James reasons that Kara is going to be furious when she learns the truth about the Guardian, but Winn says that they really don’t know how exactly the Kryptonian will take the news. “Maybe she’s gonna be totally cool about all this. You guys have worked together before, she totally respects what you do,” Winn says. “Maybe she’ll be grateful for the help, you don’t know.”

With a heavy heart, James concedes and tells Winn that he’ll talk to Kara tomorrow.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg previously revealed that Kara is going to be mad when she finds out that James and Winn are moonlighting as vigilantes, and that’s the very reason Superman’s (Tyler Hoechlin) best friend is looking for the right time to reveal his secret to her.

“I think that James was right to not tell her [because] he pretty accurately guessed her reaction to it,” Kreisberg said. While the exec producer said that the Girl of Steel’s reaction is “explosive,” he clarified that it’s definitely “out of concern and love.” “She loves James and Winn and when she does find out, she’s worried for her friends’ safety,” Kreisberg explained.

As for how Kara will discover James’ secret, Brooks teased to TVLine earlier this month that Supergirl “finds out in a very dramatic fashion that James is the Guardian.”

“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 10, titled “We Can Be Heroes,” airs on tonight at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
