Who can vote?

The Minnesota Supreme Court granted review to a petition challenging a voting rights restoration law that passed last year re-enfranchising those with a felony conviction who are no longer incarcerated.

Simon urged that despite this, it has no effect on this primary election. Oral arguments are not until April 1, nearly a month after presidential primary voting is over. Regardless of the how the court rules in that case, if you meet the following requirements, you can vote starting today:

  • At least 18-years-old

  • A citizen of the United States and Minnesota resident

  • Not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction
