In celebration of the annual cherry blossom bloom, one Washington D.C. bar has redecorated its space in a Super Mario Brothers theme for a special pop-up this year.

Together with neighboring bar Southern Efficiency, Mockingbird Hill in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood has rebranded itself as Cherry Blossom Pub. While Southern Efficiency went with a more classic design by draping faux cherry blossom branches from their ceiling, Mockingbird Hill appealed to the video-game loving kid in all of us by decking out their bar with all things Nintendo, including animatronic piranha plants ducking in and out of green pipes, illuminated mystery boxes covering light fixtures and a Mario mural made of Legos hanging above the bar. There's even a special corner in the back dedicated to King Koopa.

Of course the cocktail menu was reworked to fit the Super Mario theme, too. It includes drinks like the "It's A Me, Amario" (sweet vermouth, Don Ciccio & Figli Carcafio, aperitivo and spicy ginger ale), the "What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Smaller" (vodka, mandarin orange, pomelo and apricot soda), as well as the "I Call Yoshi!" (unfiltered sake, Midori, Chartreuse, cucumber melon and lemon) and the "King Koopa Cup" (Two James Johnny Smoking Gun Whiskey, "popcorn" tea ginger, lemon).

While Cherry Blossom Pub is open from now until April 15, you'll probably have to wait in line to get in since people can't get enough of the whimsical decor. The Washingtonian reported that people have waited up to two hours in line to get in, and on a recent Friday night the line was 38-people deep despite the rainy, 45-degree weather. Our tip? Aim to get there when it opens at 5pm on a weeknight to hopefully avoid the masses trying to get that perfect Instagram shot.
