Last week word spread that beloved A-lister Meryl Streep sold her midcentury modern estate in L.A. The L.A. Times got more details, and the celebrity real estate connection is even yummier than anticipated: the mystery buyer? None other than disgraced baseball star and mythical creature enthusiast Alexander Rodriguez. Having sold off his previous Miami property (and apparently no longer welcomed at his old NYC rental) the former third baseman dropped $4.8M on Streep's four-bedroom, 3,500-square-foot manse, apparently quite taken by the glassy, two-story structure—originally built in 1954 as part of Architectural Products magazine's "Research House" home-building program—and its courtyard complete with pool and a spa.
