Cardiff (United Kingdom) (AFP) - Gareth Bale said it was "a dream come true" after lifting the UEFA Super Cup in his hometown of Cardiff following Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Sevilla on Tuesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo struck either side of half-time at the Cardiff City Stadium to earn Madrid victory and leave Bale with the third trophy of his 12-month stint with the Spanish giants.

"Cristiano Ronaldo shows every game what he can do," the Wales forward said.

"Everybody works hard for the team. It was great to be back in my hometown. It's a dream come true to win a trophy here.

"Everybody comes to Real Madrid to win trophies. We want to play for the best team in the world and we want to keep winning trophies."
