Elmira, N.Y. (WETM)- Sunshine and quiet conditions come to an end today, but unsettled conditions are not long-lasting. When do we return to sunshine? Details below:

TODAY:

We are tracking a cold front bringing scattered showers and storms today. We start the day sunny and quiet as high pressure shifts eastward. Sunshine lasts throughout the morning and much of the afternoon before showers and storms arrive near the end of the workday. The daytime warm-up with temperatures in the upper 80s will provide fuel for showers and storms later today, so be ready to receive important weather information.

TONIGHT:
Tonight, we are briefly quiet before another round of isolated thunderstorms returns overnight, and a few showers may linger into tomorrow morning. Lows tonight are in the low 60s.

REST OF THE WEEK:

A few showers may linger through tomorrow morning, but high pressure moves in behind the cold front. This should dry us out late Thursday night and into Friday. Sunshine is briefly here for the start of the weekend, but we’ll see a few more showers and thunderstorms throughout our Memorial Day weekend.
