Sunny & breezy for the remainder of the week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Strong storm system has pushed eastward leaving behind sunny, but breezy conditions across the News 3 viewing area.

Tonight, winds will stay gusty at times out of the northwest with gusts up to 25 mph under clear skies. Temperatures become cooler with readings falling into the mid 40s by Thursday morning.

Not much changes into Thursday, staying sunny and breezy with highs in the mid to upper 60s. Wind gusts will stay steady out of the west and northwest 10-20 with occasional gusts up to 30 mph.

Heading into the weekend, staying cool in the morning, but very pleasant throughout the afternoons. Winds calm down drastically, but a few more clouds will start to become present even though we remain influenced with northwest winds aloft.

By next week, temperatures are back close to 80 degrees with a few passing clouds for the solar eclipse.

Dodging a few rain showers by Tuesday and Wednesday as another area of low pressure traverses the southeast. Severe weather is not anticipated at this time.
