Sun Belt Conference announces media day dates, Major Applewhite’s first appearance as South Alabama head coach

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Sun Belt Conference announced Tuesday the dates for the conference’s 2024 football media days.

SBC head coaches and select players will be at the New Orleans Marriott Warehouse Arts District in downtown New Orleans on July 23 and July 24.

The conference’s East Division will appear on July 23, and West Division teams will appear on July 24.

South Alabama head coach Major Applewhite and select Jaguars players will be in New Orleans for Sun Belt Football Media Days on July 24. The players who will accompany Applewhite will be announced at a later date, according to the school.

Applewhite will be one of five head coaches in their first year as head coach at their respective schools: Georgia State’s Dell McGee, James Madison’s Bob Chesney, ULM’s Bryant Vincent, South Alabama’s Major Applewhite and Troy’s Gerad Parker.
