The strike also led to damage to five vehicles, a store, and a cultural center, with emergency response teams currently at the scene.

Due to its proximity to Russia, the Krasnopilska community, along with the broader Sumy Oblast region, has been under frequent bombardment.

In response to the ongoing shelling, civilians from 27 villages in the border region have been evacuated since the summer of 2023. To date, around 9,000 individuals, including 850 children, have been moved to safer regions.

On March 26, a series of explosions rocked Sumy during an air raid alert. The airstrike targeted the city's civilian infrastructure.
