Summit Co. provides $20 Lyft credit through St. Patrick’s Day weekend

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Summit County officials want people to “Arrive Alive” this St. Patrick’s Day and practice safe, sober driving.

The Arrive Alive campaign provides a $20 credit on Lyft by using code SUMMITGREEN24 to make sure people in the county get home safely.

An Arrive Alive St. Patrick’s Day safety initiative press conference was held in the Summit County Jail parking lot with Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich and Summit County Sheriff Kandy Fatheree on Tuesday at 11 a.m.

“I’m sure many folks are looking forward to having a good time this St. Patrick’s Day weekend. I just want to make sure they get home safely,” Kolkovich said.

The $20 Lyft credit will be available from 6 a.m. Friday, March 15 through 9 a.m. Monday, March, 18.

Arrive Alive was started in Summit County in the summer of 2018 to provide people a safe ride home within the county. It has provided rides to more than 4,000 people.

“Enjoy the holiday, cut loose with your friends, have a fun weekend. But if you’ve had too much to drink, please utilize the Arrive Alive program for a free ride home,” Fatheree said.
