Summer pattern, scattered rain, storms through the weekend

Columbus and Central Ohio Weather

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Clouds are increasing, along with a narrow band of showers west of Columbus this morning. As the day goes on, scattered showers and isolated storms will develop ahead of a weak cold front and continue overnight into Saturday morning.

Afternoon temperatures west of the I-71 corridor will be a bit cooler — in the upper 70s — after reaching the upper 80s Thursday, due to cloud cover. Warmer readings in the low 80s will return in the east, with some sunshine.

The slow-moving front will keep showers in the forecast over the weekend, with a slight cooldown resulting from lingering cloudiness. Another system will bring showers and a few rumbles Saturday night into Sunday.

The frontal boundary will hang around through much of next week, keeping rain in the forecast at times with passing disturbances, in an unseasonably humid pattern.
