Suits’ upcoming Los Angeles spin-off has added One Tree Hill star Bryan Greenberg to the cast.

The upcoming NBC pilot, titled Suits L.A., is thought to begin production later this month, and Deadline has reported that Greenberg is a new addition to the show.

Last month, it was announced that Arrow star Stephen Amell will play the lead role of Ted Black in the spin-off, a former New York federal prosecutor who has a career change and heads to L.A. to represent powerful clients.

The synopsis reads: "His firm is at crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.

"All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved."

Greenberg, known for his role as Jake Jagielski in One Tree Hill, will play Ted’s protégé Rick Dodsen, who works in the entertainment division of Black Lane Law. He is slated for a promotion and he is determined to stay ahead of his rival, Erica Rollins (Lex Scott Davis).

The actor will join the previously announced cast of Amell and Davis, as well as Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, Troy Winbush as Kevin and Alice Lee as Leah.

While Suits L.A. will be aimed at fans of the original legal drama, which starred Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle, the new show won’t be a reboot – rather a brand extension, with new characters and a new location.

Suits creator Aaron Korsh has returned to write the pilot episode, with original producers including Doug Liman and Dave Bartis also returning for the spin-off.

Gabriel Macht, who played Harvey Specter in the original run, recently addressed whether his character might make an appearance in the spin-off, saying, "I mean I think it’s in a world where some characters could in fact come [back]."

Suits is available to stream on Netflix.
