To enhance cabin comfort, Subaru has added thicker door glass, an acoustic windshield, and extra floor insulation to reduce wind noise. Interior changes include new Saddle Brown perforated leather upholstery with contrast stitching on the Touring trim. Other available new features include memory settings for the seats and a power liftgate.

Subaru also is enhancing its advanced safety technologies with color cameras that provide a wider, longer field of vision. The SUV’s lane-keep assist system has been revised, and all Forester Limited and Touring trim levels will now include blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert. Forester Premium SUVs equipped with Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist system now include blind-spot and rear-traffic technologies in addition to reverse automatic braking. For added night visibility, Subaru has added steering-responsive headlight technology for illuminating the road around curves (Limited and Touring trims).

Fuel efficiency also has been tweaked on Foresters equipped with the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and CVT to average 26 mpg in city driving. Mileage ratings for the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine remain the same. In addition, active torque vectoring, which helps with cornering, comes standard on the Touring trim level with EyeSight safety technology.
