Study ranks the best and worst states for doctors, see where New Mexico ranks

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Doctors are essential and needed in all states and cities across the U.S., but where are the best places for doctors to work? WalletHub recently released its study ranking the best and worst states for doctors in 2024.

The study ranks all 50 states and the District of Columbia across 19 key metrics including average annual wage, number of hospitals and quality of hospital system. New Mexico ranks near the bottom of the list at number 46 overall. New Mexico ranked 41 in medical environment and 44 in opportunity and competition.
