Students taken to hospital after school bus crash at bank in Addis
ADDIS, La. (BRPROUD) — The Addis Police Department is investigating after some students were taken to a hospital with minor injuries after a Tuesday, April 23, school bus crash.
Police got the call at 6:59 a.m. after the bus hit the roof of The First Bank on 7451 Hwy. 1 while turning into the parking lot. Fourteen students were on board.
A preliminary investigation found that the bus driver was picking up students before returning to Iberville Charter Academy. The crash damaged the bus’s passenger wall and roof.
Two West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office employees under criminal investigation
According to a social media post from Addis police, six students were taken to a hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
