Students compete at state archery tournament in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Students have their sights on the bullseye in Lancaster County.

Nearly 1,000 students took aim at the state archery tournament, taking place at the Spooky Nook Complex.

The event is for students who take part in the “National Archery In the Schools Program.” Nearly 7,000 arrows flew during each hour of competition.

“So archery family from my perspective is tight and unique, events like this, it gives students who might not be someone who’s interested in football or competing on that type of level a place to have a team and a home,” Shooting Sports Coordinator for the PA Game Commission Kaila Hess said.
