Stubborn cloud cover likely Thursday as desert temps soar to triple digits

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The marine layer didn’t go anywhere Wednesday afternoon and clung tight to coastal communities. Stubborn clearing within a mile or two of the beaches and low clouds are expected to extend inland overnight into Thursday morning.

There may be some areas of patchy drizzle early Thursday morning due to increase moisture in the region but the rest of the week and weekend look dry.

Thursday will likely be a sequel of stubborn cloud cover for the coast but partly cloudy conditions inland.

Meanwhile, temperatures are heating up to triple digits in the desert for the second half of the work week. Daytime highs Thursday will hit the mid-60s for the coast and low-70s in the inland valleys and mountains.

A slight warming trend will take us into the weekend but will be slightly cooler than normal for this time of year.
