Strong winds prompt Wind Advisory through Thursday

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A strong storm system tracking through the region will bring the threat of strong winds to the Tennessee Valley through Thursday.

With the strong winds the area is forecast to see, the National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a Wind Advisory for the area until 5 p.m. Thursday. The advisory will include all counties highlighted in brown in the graphic above.

Winds will continue to be strong out of the southwest at 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph at times.

With the ground saturated from the recent rain, any strong winds will easily cause down trees or tree branches. Isolated power outages will also be possible. Take the time now to secure any loose outdoor items.
