Hail, spring storms pepper Western Pennsylvania, dry weather expected to return Monday

Spring storms hit Western Pennsylvania hard on Sunday night.

Storms developed north of I-80 and dropped south through the area during the evening.

Severe storms produced damaging winds, hail, and downpours. Most of the storms are through the area completely by or shortly after midnight. Shortly after 11 p.m. the National Weather Service announced that a severe thunderstorm watch for multiple local counties had been canceled.

Dry weather quickly returns Monday with warmer weather on the way into Tuesday. Highs on Tuesday could reach into the mid to upper 70s. The next chance for wet weather will return by midweek.
