Strictly star Katya Jones auctions jumpsuit as celebrity sell-off raises money for charity
Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones has joined a long list of celebrities who are auctioning off some of their prized possessions for charity.
The professional dancer is giving away a Miss Selfridge silver jumpsuit to help raise funds for Oxfam's coronavirus response.
The shiny jumpsuit (which looks more black/charcoal than silver in pure daylight) is currently up for auction on eBay and, at time of writing, there are just under seven days left to make a bid.
Also joining the cause is Helen Mirren, who's auctioning off a pair of Jimmy Choo sunglasses with a box containing a signed message. Meanwhile, Simon Pegg is giving away the Star Wars Millennium Falcon handcuffs he wore to the UK premiere of The Force Awakens.
Pegg said: "You can’t beat a set of Star Wars related cufflinks worn by Unkar Plutt himself – especially ones that raise money for Oxfam – so get bidding to raise funds for people battling coronavirus around the world."
Additionally, Dragon's Den star Deborah Meaden is donating a silk Saloni cocktail dress.
"I’ve decided not to buy any new clothes, shoes or handbags for one year because I’m conscious of the damaging effects that fast fashion has on the planet, particularly when it’s discarded instead of donated," she said.
"By donating my dress to Oxfam, I’m hoping to help raise funds for the coronavirus appeal, as well as doing my bit in recycling."
Some of the other stars to get involved include Liam Gallagher, who's giving away a signed tambourine; and Fatboy Slim, who's auctioning off a Quad Vena Hi-Fi Amplifier.
