Strictly Come Dancing star Chloe Hewitt has announced her engagement to boyfriend George Betts.

The dancer appeared on the BBC show between 2016 and 2017, and at the time was the show’s youngest professional.

While she never had a celebrity partner on the main show, on the 2016 Christmas special she partnered former contestant Gethin Jones and on the 2017 Children in Need special she danced with Radzi Chinyanganya.

Chloe announced her happy news in a sweet Instagram post, with some photos of her showing off her new ring, and the caption: "Still taking this all in… WE’RE ENGAGED."

There was lots of love for the dancer in the comments section from fellow Strictly stars, including Amy Dowden who wrote: "Argh congratulations, so happy for you Chlo xxxx", and Dianne Buswell who said: "aww so happy for you xx."

In 2019, Chloe joined forces with Amy and Dianne for a tour around the UK with a dance show called ‘Here Come the Girls’.

Chloe also recently appeared on the second series of Amy’s series Dare to Dance, where she and other dancers including Oti Mabuse and Graziano Di Prima stepped in to help during Amy’s cancer treatment.

On Chloe’s social media post, Katya Jones commented: "Ahhhh Chloe!!! Massive congratulations!!!", and Kai Widdrington wrote: "Congratulations, so happy for you two."

Former pro and It Takes Two host Janette Manrara shared her best wishes, writing: "Aghhhhh!! Congratulations!!! Such beautiful news!"

Other Strictly stars including Neil Jones, Karen Hauer and 2016 winner Joanne Clifton also offered their congratulations to their friend on the post.

Meanwhile, Chloe’s professional dance partner and former Strictly semi-finalist AJ Pritchard shared his own post on Instagram, with a video of the pair dancing the quickstep alongside the caption, "Congratulations @chloehewitt27 on getting engaged… this is not an April Fool’s!"

Before appearing on Strictly together, Chloe and AJ auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent in 2013 and made it to the live semi-finals.

Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Twoairs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
