Strictly Come Dancing 2017: the final - what time is it on TV? Plus all the songs and dances
What time is Strictly Come Dancing on TV?
The show's live final, bringing to a close a series of excitement, shocks and controversy, is on BBC One at 6.30pm on Saturday 16th December.
When will we find out the results?
There is so Sunday night results show this week, meaning we will find out the 2017 winners at the very end of Saturday's episode. That means that the Saturday final is a lengthy 150 minutes long, finishing at 9pm.
Who decides who will win?
For the final only, the judges have no say when it comes to the success of the contestants, with only viewer votes affecting where the celebrities ultimately rank. Previous weeks have seen judges' scores and viewer votes combining to determine the final ranking of contestants.
The judges will still be on hand to offer criticism, however.
What are the songs and dances for the final?
Unlike normal weeks, the finalists will perform three different routines for the final episode – one is a Judges' Pick, a repeat of one of the couples' memorable performances at the judges' discretion. The second dance will be a Favourite Dance, with the couples choosing to perform again their favourite dance of the series. The third dance, in Strictly tradition, will be a Showdance.
While the couples' Favourite Dances will only be revealed live during Saturday night's show, the episode's other dances have already been revealed.
For the Judges' Pick, the contestants will perform as follows:
Joe and Katya will dance the Viennese Waltz to Somewhere My Love from Dr. Zhivago
Gemma and Aljaz will dance the Paso Doble to Viva La Vida by Coldplay
Alexandra and Gorka will dance the American Smooth to Wouldn't It Be Lovely from My Fair Lady
Debbie and Giovanni will dance the Salsa to Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Boys Town Gang
Meanwhile, the four Showdances will be performed to the following songs:
Joe and Katya will dance to You Make My Dreams Come True by Hall & Oates
Gemma and Aljaz will dance to Show Me How You Burlesque by Christina Aguilera
Alexandra and Gorka will dance to There's No Business Like Showbusiness by Ethel Merman
Debbie and Giovanni will dance to One Day I'll Fly Away by Vaults
Will there be a guest performance?
Strictly bosses have nabbed a musical A-lister to play out the show's finale – with Ed Sheeran scheduled to perform.
What happened last week?
Saturdays singer Mollie King narrowly missed out on a place in the final when she was eliminated alongside partner AJ Pritchard. The judges decided to send her home and keep fellow bottom-two dancer Gemma Atkinson.
The results left the consistent and popular Joe McFadden as the only finalist who's never been in the bottom two. An omen for an impending glitterball win? He's currently the favourite to win according to the bookies, looking likely to be the third male glitterball holder in a row after 2016's Ore Oduba and 2015's Jay McGuinness.
