Anton Du Beke has revealed he had his hair transplants done as a confidence boost.

The Strictly Come Dancing star was a panellist on Loose Women spin-off Loose Men, where he opened up on the reasons behind having his hairline boosted which he called "the best thing I ever did".

His co-star Joe Swash also shared that he had had a hair transplant for similar reasons as they talked about how much better they felt with their new look.

Strictly star Anton Du Beke has shared that he had hair transplants to help his self-esteem and confidence after becoming increasingly upset by what he saw in the mirror.

Du Beke has spoken on Loose Women before about the surgery he had, but appearing on spin-off show Loose Men he told viewers more about the reasons behind it.

Asked about having a hair transplant by his other co-stars Vernon Kay, Joe Swash and Jordan Banjo, he said: "I had two. I figured it's my hair, I'll just move it where I want it. I had a bit of crop rotation."

He added: "I had it done because when I looked in the mirror, it was all I could see. People do stuff for their own personal reasons and you must do it for you.

"When I looked in the mirror it was all I could see, where it was going. When I had it done I immediately felt better about it and better about myself.

"For me it was a huge thing because it's all I could see. It wasn't going to get any better. We start entering into the world of self-esteem and confidence. How that's going to affect my life longterm, potentially."

The dancer and TV judge said: "I had it done and personally I think it was the best thing I ever did. I feel enormously better. It's not a vanity thing, or that I think I'm going to get more work. It literally is makes me feel better about me. I did it for me."

Swash, who has also had a hair transplant, agreed: "I started to lose mine when I was a little bit younger. I was on the telly. I decided to get my hair done, it did my confidence the world of good."

Rishi Sunak was the star guest on Thursday's show, where he admitted that appearing on Loose Women was one of the most intimidating things he has had to do as Prime Minister.

Sunak was grilled about how he planned to help people living in poverty and accused of "hating pensioners" by Judi Love and Janet Street-Porter.

Asked whether he was a Loose Women fan, Sunak replied: "I'll be totally honest. It's on on occasion in the back of the office which is my main familiarity with it. I've got to say, I've done a lot of things in this job, but being here is probably on the more intimidating end of things I've had to do, so let's see how it goes."

He added: "You'd think I'd be used to it because I have a family of girls, I have two young girls, even our dog is a girl. So in one sense, I ought to be ok with it, but this definitely feels a bit intimidating."

Loose Women airs on ITV1 at 12.30pm on weekdays.
