Strictly Come Dancing’s Angela Rippon has teased a "musical voyage" for the next dance with professional partner Kai Widdrington.

The couple were a big hit during the launch show, earning straight sevens across the board from the judges for their Cha-cha-cha set to Dame Shirley Bassey's cover of 'Get the Party Started'.

With the first live show behind her, the legendary BBC newsreader is back in rehearsals with Kai to whip up their next routine.

The pair shared a sneak peek at their rehearsals on Monday (September 25), where Angela and Kai hinted they have something very different up their sleeves for their next routine.

"Back in the rehearsal room, Monday morning. New music, new dance, you've been working on the choreography, haven't you?" Angela asked partner Kai.

Angela promised that their next dance – which will be announced later in the week – will be "a bit different from what [they] did last week".

"[It's] another sort of musical voyage of adventure for me," she explained.

Kai dropped some hints that this week's routine would have a different "tempo" from what Strictly Come Dancing viewers saw last weekend.

All of the couples will have their scores from last weekend combined with their scores from this Saturday night before the first couple has to say goodbye in Sunday's results show.

In addition to her incredible news career, Angela was also one of the presenters for Strictly's predecessor Come Dancing – though she has said that her experience on Come Dancing won't actually help her on the dance floor.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday nights on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights from September 25 on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
