The long awaited Streetsboro Community Center is finally opening to the public, and residents will have the first chance to see the inside of the building in the days ahead.

An open house is planned at 6 p.m. Wednesday. On March 21, Mayor Glenn Broska will deliver his State of the City address from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The $3.2 million, 7,400-square-foot building, which sits at the back of the city's park off Kirby Lane, broke ground in May 2023. It will serve as a permanent home for senior programming − something older adults haven't had since they moved from the former City Hall in 2018. The structure also will feature a space that will accommodate 150 to 190 people, large enough for weddings, banquets and other events.
