Gulf Blvd. reopens in Sand Key after fatal crash between pickup and semi-truck

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A person died in a collision between a pickup truck and tractor trailer in the Clearwater area early Sunday morning.

The Clearwater Police Department and Clearwater Fire and Rescue were called to a crash on Gulf Boulevard just after 1:30 a.m.

One of the pickup’s occupants died in the crash and another was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with serious injuries.

Gulf Boulevard in the Sand Key area was blocked after the crash. All lanes are open again as of this report.

Clearwater police did not provide any additional details about the crash.
