How to Stream the Presidential Debate: Twitter, Facebook and YouTube

It’s finally here: The first presidential debate. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton will face off against Republican nominee Donald Trump at 9 p.m. ET at Hofstra University on Long Island, New York.
But what if you don’t have cable, or a TV? How will you watch? The good news is, you have options — lots and lots of them. While TV networks are still a little hesitant to start giving away their live content online for free, this is clearly a special occasion, and traditional and new players are teaming up to make sure as many people as possible have access to these debates.
Here’s how you can stream the Lester Holt-moderated debate Monday night:

Twitter will be live streaming Bloomberg TV’s coverage of the event. And now that Twitter has an Apple TV app, you can even stream it on a bigger screen.
Twitter will have a Spanish-language stream on its Periscope app.
Facebook will be live streaming ABC News’ coverage. Facebook doesn’t yet have an app for it — but the company’s primary focus is mobile, anyway.
CBS News will have a live stream too. Many others are offering free streams on their websites, like ABC News.
Most news organizations will also be live streaming their coverage via YouTube, like NBC News, CNN, Fox News and Telemundo.
Yahoo will also be live streaming the event.
And therefore you have no excuse not to watch, unless you’re full up on election cycle insanity and would rather not miss any of tonight’s New Orleans Saints-Atlanta Falcons matchup on ESPN’s Monday Night Football.
