Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale closing in April

BLOOMINGDALE, Ill. — A mall in northwest suburban Bloomingdale will soon shut its doors and be demolished.

Stratford Square Mall has been in operation for more than 40 years but has steadily been on the decline.

On Sunday, April 21 at 6 p.m., it will close to the public for good.

The Village of Bloomingdale has been buying pieces of the mall for years, purchasing the last part in early 2024, The Daily Herald reports.

Officials plan to demolish the mall and replace it with a major new mixed-use development.
