Strasburg woman dies in two-vehicle crash Tuesday on Interstate 77

DOVER TOWNSHIP ‒ An 86-year-old Strasburg woman died Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 77.

According to the New Philadelphia post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, a 2014 Honda Civic driven by Doris Webber of Strasburg was traveling southbound on the interstate south of the U.S. 250 interchange at 2:38 p.m. when the Honda used an emergency crossover in the median to make a U turn. It then traveled north on the interstate.

It was struck in the right rear by a northbound 2024 Toyota Rav4 driven by Tammy Miller, 66, of Newcomerstown. The Honda went off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and came to rest in high water.

Webber was transported by the New Philadelphia Fire Department to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, where she was pronounced dead.

Miller was transported to Mercy Hospital in Canton by Smith Ambulance with minor injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.
