Stranger Things star says shaving head was "empowering"

Alongside its much-copied typeface, we'd argue that the most recognisable image when it comes to Stranger Things is that of Millie Bobby Brown with her saved head, in character as Eleven.

And for the actress herself, the haircut wasn't just about transforming into a role – it was for herself too.

The star uploaded a short video on Twitter of herself getting her hair buzzed off, writing: "The day I shaved my head was the most empowering moment of my whole life.

"The last strand of hair cut off was the moment my whole face was on show and I couldn't hide behind my hair like I used to. As I looked in the mirror I realised I had one job to do. Inspire."

Her replies were full of photos of other young women showing off their shaved heads, which is pretty damn awesome.

Beyond more seasons of the hit Netflix sci-fi show, Brown was recently announced as Sherlock Holmes' younger sister in a new film series.

Not only that, she is going to be producing the show, and will become the youngest producer in Hollywood in the process.

And if she's not busy enough with all that, she's going to be battling with Godzilla at some point too.
