The Story Behind Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s Matching Ferraris
When you’re Kendall or Kylie Jenner, getting a Ferrari before you even turn 21 might as well be a rite of passage.
In fact, that’s just what the sisters did a few weeks ago — but now, Kendall, 20, is sharing the story behind their “sister Spiders” — a.k.a. the matching sports cars she and sister Kylie, 19, ended up purchasing on the same day last month.
“You may have seen Kylie’s snaps of us both getting Ferraris, but the story behind it is so good — it wasn’t planned at all!” Kendall explained in a post on her website and app Tuesday. “After I drove her Ferrari 458 for a week earlier this year, I knew I needed one for myself.”
“I waited because a friend of mine told me that the 488 (the model I have now) was coming out in a few months,” she continued. “So, I kept waiting while my friend looked for one to come to the States.”
Kendall explained she later ended up checking out the 488, but didn’t buy it at the time. Instead, she told her sister she was hoping to buy one, and Kylie informed her she was planning on getting one, too. (“We thought it was cool that we’d both be driving them around,” says Kendall.)
Lo and behold, the fateful day arrived.
“One day, I was at breakfast with my friend and he told me there was one down the street and that I had to see it,” said Kendall. “I was finally ready, so I bought it on the spot. I FaceTimed Kylie, saying, ‘Look what I just got!!!’ ”
Kendall told her sister to go check out the other one, which was at another local dealership.
“I met her there just as she was buying it!” said Kendall. “Then we took all the cheesy snaps, lol. It was funny that we ended up getting them on the same day — because it was so spontaneous.”

And in case you’re keeping track, the Ferrari 488 Spider (which starts at a reported $275,000) isn’t the first luxury vehicle either sister owns. Kendall also drives a $100K vintage Chevrolet Corvette, and Kylie has at least five other cars in her garage, including a white Range Rover Autobiography, a black Mercedes-Benz G63 SU and a white Rolls Royce Ghost, plus a Mercedes-Benz Maybach S600 and a Ferrari 458 Italia, both gifts from her boyfriend Tyga.
