Storms impacting flights at Charlotte Airport

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Officials with Charlotte Douglas International Airport are warning travelers about flight delays and cancellations following Wednesday’s severe weather in the area and storms across the U.S.

“Yesterday’s storm impacts are extending into today. Please check your flight status with your airline prior to arriving to #CLTAirport.”

As of 8 a.m. Thursday nearly 30 flights were delayed with just two cancellations.

Officials are encouraging travelers to check flight status before arriving at the airport.

Severe weather moved across the area Wednesday afternoon prompting Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in multiple counties. A pair of lightning strikes caused fires at two separate residences in the Queen City.
