Storm Wrecks Planes at Aerodrome in Buenos Aires Province

Intense storms caused extensive damage at an aerodrome in the Argentinian province of Buenos Aires on Tuesday, March 19,.

Images captured by Augusto Acosta, a trainee pilot, shows damaged planes and hangars at aerodrome outside the city of Nueve de Julio.

Throughout the day, Argentina’s National Meteorological Service (SMN Argentina) issued warnings of sudden storms bringing heavy rain, wind and hail to several parts of Buenos Aires province, including the Nueve de Julio area.

On Wednesday, SMN Argentina extended a ‘red alert’ warning to northeast Buenos Aires province and forecasted strong to severe storms with wind gusts of up to 100 km/h (68 mph). Credit: Augusto Acosta via Storyful
