Storm leaves trail of damage from TN into MS

BYHALIA, Miss. — Storms and strong winds wreaked havoc across the Mid-South, causing damage in Rossville, Tennessee, and Byhalia, Mississippi.

In an effort to repair the damage left behind by Monday night’s storms, large equipment was brought out to remove large trees that are blocking roads.

In addition to fallen trees, the high overnight winds have impacted Byhalia neighborhoods.

One of those areas in particular was a mobile home park, where the fence lining the property collapsed because of the storm.

WREG spoke with a resident, named Brittany, who said as she patiently waited for the storm to pass, she was hoping that her home and family went untouched.

“I’m just holding them tight and praying that we get through the night,” Brittany said.

The morning after the storm, the mother of four was able to take a look outside and see all the damage the storm caused.

“There are a bunch of limbs that are down, shingles blown off, siding blown off, trash everywhere,” Brittany said.

Despite the damage, a member of the board of supervisors in Marshall County, Mississippi, told WREG, there have been no reported injuries.
