Storm cancels around 500 flights at Denver airport

DENVER (AP) — Denver airport officials say snow from a spring storm has prompted around 500 flight cancellations.

Many of the cancellations at Denver International Airport Tuesday are commuter flights.

The storm hasn't been as strong as expected at the airport but travelers are still facing deicing delays of between 15 and 30 minutes.

Airport spokesman Heath Montgomery says crews are working to clear blowing snow from runways. Several more inches of snow are expected to fall during the day.
