Storm brought nearly 2 inches of rain to one SLO County spot. Here’s how much your area got

After an incredibly dry start to the year, the Central Coast saw a significant storm bring more than an inch of rain to various areas of San Luis Obispo County.

The cold front also brought windy conditions that caused the National Weather Service to issue warnings for high surf conditions and possible waterspouts out on the ocean. Some areas may have seen pea-sized hail, according to the Weather Service.

The coastal areas of San Luis Obispo County remain under a high surf advisory until noon Tuesday and a small craft advisory until 3 a.m. Thursday, according to the Service.

The rain that fell along the Central Coast Monday likely brings a temporary and slight relief to the severe drought conditions the region is experiencing. However, most of the area’s reservoirs require several more inches of rain to see measurable differences in water storage, so levels may not rise.
