Power restored to Sacramento-area residents as storm calms
(FOX40.COM) — A large storm calmed overnight in Northern California after a day of heavy rain, but scattered showers are still possible on Thursday.

The storm was originally forecast to last until Friday in the Sacramento area, with the strongest impact on Wednesday night, including strong wind gusts.
“Gusts pick up Wednesday evening and will be strongest Wednesday night. Gusts may exceed 40 mph Wednesday night, [which is] a threshold for downed trees,” FOX40 Chief Meteorologist Adam Epstein said.

In the Sacramento and Lake Tahoe areas, several weather advisories are in effect starting Wednesday:
•Flood Watch: Much of Northern California is under a flood watch from Wednesday morning to Friday morning
•Wind Advisory: A similar region is under a wind advisory from Wednesday morning until Thursday evening, with the potential for gusts up to 55 miles per hour
•Severe Winter Storm Warning: Between Wednesday morning and Friday morning, much of the Sierra Nevada could receive snow, with the heaviest snowfall in the highest-elevation areas
FOX40’s weather center shows a 58% chance of rain and scattered thunderstorms on Thursday and some morning showers on Friday.
Saturday is set to offer a little relief before another storm hits the region on Sunday.
