Winners and losers

Stocks in the red include NetAp as the data management company reported a loss due to the new tax law; SunPower as the solar firm’s full year revenue forecast came in below expectations; and TreeHouse Foods, with shares tumbling as the packaged food manufacturer issued full-year profit guidance that missed the mark.

Stocks in the green include Overstock as billionaire George Soros reported a nearly 10% stake in the company; Cisco, as the world’s largest networking equipment maker said sales grew about 3% last quarter which is its first rise in revenue in more than two years; and Teva Pharmaceuticals, with Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway reporting a new stake in the generic drugmaker, close to nearly 19 million shares. Activist fund Jana Partners also disclosed a stake in Teva.
