Stocking trout in Lackawanna County

BENTON TWP., LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It was a busy day at Lackawanna Lake at Lackawanna State Park. The Fish and Boat Commission was stocking trout for the upcoming season.

Anglers must be 16 years of age and have a license to fish, but we’re told there are plenty in the water to catch.

“People look forward to it every year. You know, without the stock trout we wouldn’t really have a good spring trout fishery here at the state park,” said PA Fish and Boat Commission Waterways Conservation Officer David Raufls.

Get ready to cast your line, trout season opens on April 6 in the Commonwealth.
