Stockard Channing will forever remain etched in our memories as leading Pink Lady Rizzo in the much-loved musical, Grease.

But when the 73-year-old took a seat on Lorraine’s sofa this morning to celebrate the movie’s 40th anniversary, viewers were sadly preoccupied by her ‘new’ appearance.

Seeming to forget that Grease was released four decades ago (when the actress was just 33 years of age), viewers took to social media to criticise her looks.

One viewer tweeted that the actress looked ‘unrecognisable’ while others questioned her ‘botched plastic surgery’.

Thankfully our faith in humanity was soon restored, as fans took to the social media app to show their support for the actress who is currently starring in Apoligia at the West End.

On the popular morning television show, Lorraine revealed that despite Grease remaining a firm household favourite across the nation, Channing has only ever watched the film twice. Yes, seriously.

“I saw it when it first opened and there was a 20th anniversary and I went with a friend of mine and her little girl,” the actress revealed to Lorraine.

And Channing was just as surprised as we were to learn that the film was released forty years ago (we can’t help but feel a tad old).

“I don’t really want to believe it!” she joked to Lorraine. “I am the world’s oldest living teenager!”
