Stephen King: Trump’s Hillary Tweet ‘F***ed-Up’

Sometimes when lost for the right phrase, even the most eloquent can resort to profanity, and author Stephen King—a man not unfamiliar with four-letter words—did just that in reponse to President Trump’s most recent tweet about Hillary Clinton.

The Shining author was reacting to a gif the president retweeted Sunday morning, showing him hitting a golf ball at his 2016 presidential rival and knocking her to the ground.

The tweet, from the account CNN SUCKS, was retweeted 28,000 times and liked more than 63,000 times.

King, who has been a vocal critic of the president in the past, did not withhold his disapproval. "Trump thinks hitting a woman with a golf ball and knocking her down is funny. Myself, I think it indicates a severely fucked-up mind," he tweeted.

The Hill reported that it was not the first time King had questioned the president’s state of mind. In July the horror author said Trump was an “almost textbook case of personality disorder.” In a separate tweet, the writer commented: “That this guy has his finger on the nuclear trigger is worse than any horror story I ever wrote.”

President Trump has regularly extolled the virtues of being able to reach his millions of Twitter followers directly. However, he has come under fire in the past for retweeting edited gifs and videos.

In July he shared a clip that showed him body-slamming an opponent representing CNN in a wrestling match. He was criticized by some who said his tweet incited violence against the media.

The account which Trump retweeted his most recent Hillary video from has also faced criticism. BuzzFeed News reported that in the past it had been used to share anti-Semitic messages and tweets attacking the Muslim and transgender communities.

In another post sent in a Sunday morning flurry of tweets Trump mocked North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, referring to him as “rocket man.”

Ahead of his first attendance of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York this week, and apparently while looking at gifs, the president tweeted his most recent diplomatic maneuverings regarding Korea. “I spoke with President Moon of South Korea last night. Asked him how Rocket Man is doing. Long gas lines forming in North Korea. Too bad!” he wrote.
