(KRON) — Stephen Curry the politician? It could happen, the Golden State Warriors star said Tuesday.

In an interview with CBS Mornings, Curry said he would consider a political career after he retires from the NBA. Curry was on the show to promote his new book, “I Am Extraordinary.”

CBS’ Jericka Duncan simply asked Curry, “Steph Curry for president? Yay, nay, or maybe.” Curry responded with a shrug, “maybe.” Duncan followed up by asking Curry if he has an interest in politics.

“I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in a way that I can,” he said.

Unlike NFL star Aaron Rodgers, Curry said he will not run any time soon, but he would not rule out a political career at some point.

“So, if that’s the way to do it… I’m not saying the presidency… but if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change, or if there’s a way outside of politics that we can do,” he said.

Curry publicly feuded with former President Donald Trump when he was in office. After winning the NBA Finals with the Warriors, Curry said he did not want to visit the White House while Trump was in office. Trump responded by rescinding the invitation. LeBron James took Curry’s side, calling Trump “U bum” in a now-famous tweet.

Curry and the Warriors did visit Joe Biden in the White House after their 2022 title. While there, he thanked the Biden administration for bringing WNBA star Brittney Griner back from Russia, where she was imprisoned.

In terms of his day job, Curry is currently out with a sprained ankle. The Warriors said he will practice with the team on Friday and be re-evaluated.
